Support Dr Gavin Barry for the Ultra,London to Cambridge 100km marathon in aid of cancer research!
Gavin hopes to complete the 100km Ultra marathon for Cancer Research UK after hearing the news that his partner has been diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2014.
Gavin’s partner, Ashleigh was diagnosed with grade 3 invasive breast cancer just after her 29th birthday. She has remained very positive throughout her treatment and Ashleigh’s family and friends have taken part in many events to raise funds for cancer charities throughout the UK and Ireland.
Gavin has completed the London half marathon in aid of Macmillan, the Cork full marathon for Arc house and is now hoping to complete the London to Cambridge Ultra Marathon for Cancer Research UK.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK with 1 in 8 women being diagnosed. The statistics are frightening but every 2 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer and 1 in 2 people will develop cancer at some point in their lives ( Cancer Research UK 2014).
Cancer Research UK receives no government funding for it’s research which is vital for improving treatments and saving lives.
So please donate and help Gavin & Ashleigh’s family and friends have MORE TOMORROWS
