We have 5 passionate dental hygienists at Prettygate Dental, all of whom are well equipped to beat away plaque and perfect your oral hygiene! We specialise in two hygiene treatments: clean and polish and periodontal treatment.

A thorough clean of the teeth and the gums will ensure that your mouth stays healthy and happy! Often, brushing your teeth is not enough – you can’t always reach the tartar and plaque that build up between teeth. This type of deep clean can prevent all manner of things such as gum disease, smelly breath, and cavities!

Is it for me?

We will always recommend regular visits to your hygienist. This is because your teeth are important, and brushing at home only does part of the job! When supplemented with hygienist visits, your gums and your teeth will stay healthy, clean and clear for a very long time!

Our dental hygienists will first assess your situation, and then they will get to work cleaning and polishing your teeth. By utilising a variety of state of the art tools and instruments, they can swiftly and safely remove stains, blemishes, plaque and tartar – with no damage to teeth, and no pain! This greatly reduces the risk of gum diseases, whilst maintaining a pearly white smile!

Periodontal treatment

Our periodontal treatment has been designed specifically to combat gum disease, with gingivitis being the most common (and the easiest to treat!). However, if left untreated gingivitis can turn into periodontal disease which is more difficult to treat, and will require more specialist attention.

Sadly, there is no cure for periodontitis, but with regular visits to your hygienist, the symptoms and the spread of the disease can be managed, maintained and minimised. Our treatments do often differ from patient to patient, as each case is different and dependant upon the stage of gum disease.

What we also recommend is that you make bi-weekly visits to your dentist to make sure that your teeth are progressing, and to make sure that no complications arise during your wearing of the Inman Aligner.

Once you have arrived for your appointment, your hygienist will assess your teeth, gums and overall oral health.

Simplicity is key!

If you require a clean and polish or periodontal treatment, your hygienist will create a simple treatment plan.

Prioritise your oral health!

Once your treatment has been completed, we will arrange subsequent checkups to maintain your oral health!
